Hyaluronic acid is what ensures the skin retains water to create volume and elasticity. However, with age hyaluronic acid is produced at a slower rate, which causes the skin to become thinner. Together with other factors, such as overexposure to the sun and stress, this natural compound is further depleted and wrinkles start to appear. Doctors use these cosmetic fillers for the treatment of wrinkles, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, oral commissures, cupid’s bow, as well as lip enhancement. In addition, in some cases you can use it for facial contouring. The Intraline range consists of Intraline One and Two and Intraline for Men. Intraline Men is specially formulated to target deep-set wrinkles and facial contours.
What makes a good candidate?
The range consists of several products suitable for men and women over the age of 18. Intraline is contraindicated in:
- Individuals with a hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid;
- Patients who are breastfeeding or pregnant;
- Areas with inflammation or an active infection;
- Patients with a bleeding disorder or those taking anticoagulants;
- Areas with a permanent implant.
Areas treated with Intraline?
Intraline One: Due to medium-sized molecules of hyaluronic acid, this filler is suitable for correcting moderate facial wrinkles, including nasolabial folds, frown lines, and the cupid’s bow.
Intraline Two: Due to the larger hyaluronic acid molecules, Intraline Two can treat severe wrinkles, facial contouring, and thin lips.
Intraline for Men: The large hyaluronic acid molecules in this formula makes it suitable for correcting deep wrinkles, including forehead lines, and facial contours.
Intraline uses a hyaluronic acid concentration of 20mg/ml, which allows for the effective treatment of mid to deep wrinkles and lines.
How does Intraline work?
Intraline is a cross-linked, hyaluronic acid-based filler line that is made through bacterial fermentation. Hyaluronic acid in Intraline works by temporarily restoring volume and filling in hollows and depressions for a more youthful look. As hyaluronic acid binds to water molecules, volume is restored and the skin is lifted, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. As well, due to its water-loving properties, these cosmetic injectables help to hydrate the skin. Because of the unique Spherification Technology, the hyaluronic acid molecules are smooth and dense, which allows for more natural-looking results.
Treatment details
Ensure you review the full medical history of the candidate before administering Intraline.
Cleanse and disinfect the treatment area using an appropriate antiseptic. You can apply a local anesthetic, if desired. Administer using the provided needle and an intradermal injection technique. Do not overcorrect or inject too deeply, as this will affect the results. Ensure to change the needle with each new injection site.
You may need to massage the treated area to mold the gel. Dispose of used needles and unused gel—do not attempt to resterilize.
Refer to the product pamphlet for detailed use instructions. After the procedure, advise your client to avoid makeup for 12 hours and extreme temperatures for up to a week.
Store Intraline between 2° and 25°C away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
How long does Intraline last?
Intraline results can last up to 9 months or longer. Individual results may vary depending on the patient’s age, lifestyle, and skin condition. Over time, the hyaluronic acid in the filler is absorbed by the tissues.
