What does this product come with?

One pack of this product pack contains six 30ml or 60ml bottles of Coupling Fluid. This product also comes with a product insert.

What are the benefits of this product?

Thermage CPT treatment effectively and safely address age-related concerns like wrinkles, loose skin, and crepey skin by tightening and lifting the treated area, resulting in smoother, tauter, and suppler skin. Unlike lasers and light therapies, this treatment is suitable for all skin types. Thermage TF-2 Coupling Fluid helps ensure results with Thermage CPT treatment are attained.

How does this product work?

Thermage CPT works by providing volumetric heating to skin tissue to selectively heat the underlying area of deep dermal layers in a controlled manner. This causes existing collagen fibrils in the targeted area to shrink, producing a three-dimensional contraction of skin tissue. Applying heat to the deep dermal layers also stimulates the inflammatory cascade as part of the wound healing mechanism, thereby inciting fibroblast activity and accompanying neocollagenesis at the treatment area. As a result, the skin tightening effect initially seen continues to gradually improve in the two to six months after treatment. The superficial epidermis is not affected by treatment.

Coupling Fluid is applied on the treatment area during the procedure to ensure that electrical contact between the Thermage Treatment Tip and the skin surface is maintained. The fluid also acts as a lubricant during the procedure.

What are the ingredients?

The coupling fluid is an odorless, viscous, and light-blue liquid of a proprietary formulation. It is meant for use with the Thermage CPT instrument, which consists of a radiofrequency generator, a cryogen unit, and a Handpiece that directly interacts with the patient’s skin. A disposable Treatment Tip is attached to the Handpiece.

Use Instructions

How to inject/administer this product

Thermage CPT treatment should be conducted in a medical office setting by a qualified and trained medical practitioner. Pre-procedure photographs should be taken so that the results can be evaluated accurately. Prepare the planned treatment site by gentle cleansing it and removing makeup with alcohol. Next, place a rubber grounding pad on the patient, usually on their lower back or abdomen. Place a temporary tattoo of a grid, which serves as a guide for pulse placement, on the treatment area using skin marking paper. Apply copious amounts of Coupling Fluid to the treatment area. When these steps are done, use the Handpiece to deliver pulses of radiofrequency energy to the targeted skin. The treatment area may be covered with multiple passes, with extra pulses targeted at especially problematic areas. Coupling Fluid can be reapplied as needed. Once the procedure is complete, remove the grid tattoo and cleanse the skin again.

When should I use this product?

According to Solta Medical, a Thermage CPT procedure usually takes 20 minutes to an hour and a half to complete, depending on the treatment area. A single treatment session with Thermage CPT produce results immediately. A single treatment session is all that is needed to produce the desired effects in most cases.

What areas can I treat with this product?

Thermage TF-2 Coupling Fluid is applied to the treatment area in a Thermage CPT procedure. Depending on the Treatment Tip used, Thermage CPT can be used on the face, periorbital areas, neck and body. In this respect, Thermage TF-2 Coupling Fluid can be used in any of these areas.

How long do results last?

The results of a Thermage CPT treatment are instantly noticeable and continue to improve over a two to six month period after treatment. Results of a Thermage CPT treatment can last beyond one year, depending on the condition of the skin and the patient’s aging process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is an ideal candidate for this product?

Thermage CPT is ideal for patients who are looking to treat their skin laxity concerns in a non-invasive manner. However, patients with severe skin laxity may benefit more from alternative treatments. Thermage CPT is contraindicated in pregnant women, patients with an internal cardiac defibrillator or a pacemaker, patients with any type of metal implant at or near their treatment area, and patients with active skin infection(s) at their treatment area.

Why should I purchase this product?

Thermage CPT is a relatively popular aesthetic device due to the fact that treatment with it is non-invasive, which helps ensure a fairly quick recovery, and is comfortable. Unlike other skin resurfacing treatments or devices, the Thermage CPT system offers results in just one session.

Are there any side effects?

While Thermage CPT treatment is regarded as a low-risk procedure, patients should be aware of the anticipated side effects of treatment. After the procedure, it is common for patients to experience mild erythema and swelling in the treated area. These reactions are usually temporary and self-resolving, and they tend to dissipate within a week after treatment.

In rare circumstances, the treatment may cause a slight thermal injury to the epidermal layer, resulting in the development of crusts, blisters, or scabs. These effects are minor and should not cause any scarring. Another rare complication is the development of usually temporary but sometimes permanent small tissue irregularities. Lastly, some patients that have undergone a Thermage CPT treatment have reported that they experience temporary altered sensation, numbness, or tingling effects at their treated site.
