What does this product come with?

A package of this product comes with one Thermage STC Face Tip, either the C2 or C3 version, which is supplied in sterile packaging, and a package insert.

What are the benefits of this product?

Thermage CPT is an energy-based device that is non-invasive in function, easy to administer, and convenient for both patients and practitioners alike. After a treatment session with Thermage CPT, patients experience no disruption to their daily activities, as there is minimal downtime from the procedure. Additionally, the results from such a treatment are instantly noticeable and continue to improve with time. Unlike other energy-based treatments, a single session with a Thermage CPT device is usually enough to produce the desired effects.

How does this product work?

With age, the skin sees a reduction in collagen quantities, and the remaining collagen stretches, resulting in loose, sagging skin. Thermage CPT provides monopolar radiofrequency heating to the collagen found deep in the skin, impacting collagen in two ways. First, there is an immediate contracting of collagen fibrils, resulting in dermal and fibrous septae tightening. Then, a secondary response to injury triggers the formation of new collagen, resulting in continual tightening over time.
Thermage CPT also has measures that aid in the improvement of patient comfort; such measures include the ability to deliver vibrations and a unique energy delivery mechanism via the Handpiece.

What are the ingredients?

A Thermage CPT system consists of a radiofrequency generator, a cryogen unit, and a Handpiece that directly interacts with the patient’s skin. A disposable Treatment Tip is attached to the Handpiece, and this part controls the depth, size, and number of radiofrequency energy pulses.
The Thermage STC Face Tip specifically targets the deep dermal layers of the face and neck, providing precise and uniform collagen heating.

Use Instructions

How to inject/administer this product

Thermage CPT treatment should be conducted in a medical office setting by a qualified and trained physician. A procedure with this device starts with the planned treatment site being prepared by cleansing it and removing makeup. A Grounding Pad is then attached to the patient, usually on their lower back or abdomen. A temporary tattoo of a grid that serves as a guide for pulse placement is then applied to the treatment area. Afterwards, copious amounts of Coupling Fluid should be applied to the treatment area. The Handpiece is then held against the skin of the treatment area for pulses of radiofrequency energy to be delivered. The treatment area may be covered with multiple passes or by one super pass, and extra pulses can be targeted at problematic areas. Throughout the application, cooling bursts are delivered to avoid overheating the surface of the skin. Once the procedure is complete, the grid tattoo is removed, and the skin is cleansed once again.

When should I use this product?

A single Thermage CPT treatment can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 90 minutes to complete, depending on the treatment area.

What areas can I treat with this product?

The Thermage STC Face Tip is designed to be used on the face and neck.

How long do results last?

The results of a single Thermage CPT treatment are instantly noticeable, and continuous improvements to these immediate results develop over a two- to six-month period after the treatment session. Results of a Thermage treatment can last beyond one year, depending on the condition of the skin and the treatment area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is an ideal candidate for this product?

Patients that are suitable for Thermage CPT treatment with the Thermage STC Face Tip are those who are looking to soften the appearance of the nasolabial folds, tighten and firm the cheeks, correct minor wrinkles and lines, or just simply tighten their facial or neck skin. Treatment works best on patients with mild or moderate sagging; patients with severe skin laxity may benefit more from alternative treatments. In addition, patients with an internal cardiac defibrillator or pacemaker, pregnant women, and patients with active skin infection(s) in their planned treatment site should not be considered for treatment with Thermage CPT.

Why should I purchase this product?

Many medical practitioners use Thermage CPT because it offers a non-invasive, non-ablative alternative to surgery. The instrument is easy to use, and the incorporation of different Treatment Tips allows for the device to treat for a wide range of body areas and applications.

Are there any side effects?

While Thermage CPT treatment is regarded as very safe, patients should be aware of some expected effects of treatment. After a procedure with the device, it is common for patients to experience mild redness and swelling in their respective treatment area. These reactions are usually mild and self-resolving, and they tend to subside within a week after treatment at the latest.
In rare circumstances, a treatment with Thermage CPT may cause slight injury to the epidermal layer, resulting in the development of crusts, blisters, or scabs. These effects are minor and should not cause any scarring. Another rare complication is the development of usually temporary but sometimes permanent small skin indentations. Lastly, some patients have reported that they experienced temporary altered sensation or tingling effects at their particular treatment site.
