How does this product work?

Thermage provides collagen heating of the deep dermis and fibrous septae to produce tissue contraction and an overall skin tightening effect. Furthermore, this treatment induces the body’s wound repair mechanisms which leads to neocollagenesis and subsequent dermal remodeling. As a result, the skin tightening effect is maintained with an observed improvement in dermal tone and texture. The keys to the success of Thermage CPT treatments are the accurate, uniform heating of the deeper dermal layers and the preservation of the superficial epidermal layer. In the CPT Thermage system, these are achieved by the cooling of the skin via cryogen spray that is applied before, during, and after the delivery of pulses of radiofrequency energy to the skin. The treatment tip controls the geometry, area and depth of volumetric heating.
