What are the benefits of this treatment?

Restylane Light with Lidocaine is a skin-rejuvenating injection made of non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel, with lidocaine added for its anesthetic properties. The syringe includes the Smart Click System to help deliver the proper dose with each injection. This gel helps replace hyaluronic acid lost from younger and more delicate skin, restoring moisture and improving skin tone and elasticity.

How does this product work?

Restylane Light with Lidocaine contains hyaluronic acid, similar to what is normally found within the skin. As the skin ages or is exposed to sun damage, it can lose its hyaluronic acid content, becoming dry and looking prematurely-aged. As you restore the skin’s hyaluronic acid content, the hyaluronic acid holds moisture within the skin and helps smooth the appearance of fine lines that may have begun to form on the skin. Hyaluronic acid also acts as an antioxidant to protect skin from free radicals which can damage skin cells. During the treatment itself, the lidocaine in Restylane Light with Lidocaine acts as an anesthetic, numbing the area to reduce pain and discomfort your patient might feel from the needle. The gel will gradually break down to be absorbed into the body. The Restylane Light with Lidocaine syringe includes the Smart Click System, which clicks to indicate when you have injected each dose of gel.

What are the ingredients?

• Hyaluronic acid, stabilized (12mg/ml)
• Lidocaine hydrochloride (3mg/ml).

How to inject/administer this product:

Only qualified medical professionals should inject this filler product. To use Restylane Light with Lidocaine, first disinfect the treatment area. To prepare the syringe, hold the glass syringe and luer-lock adapter with one hand and the injector shield with the other hand, and push and rotate firmly to ensure the injection medium is secure. Press down on the finger grip button to activate the Smart Click System, priming the injector. Use a 29G thin wall injector or a blunt 30G cannula if you prefer. Inject Restylane Vital Light with Lidocaine into the dermal layer, preferably the deeper part of the dermis, using the micro-puncture technique to deposit gel about one or two centimeters apart. This helps evenly distribute the gel across the treatment area. After the injection, you can gently massage the treatment area to ensure even distribution. When should I use this product?

Initially, you should perform 2 to 3 Restylane Light with Lidocaine treatments spaced 4 weeks apart, with treatments every 4 to 6 months to maintain the results. However, this may vary depending on your particular patient’s needs.

What areas can I treat?

Restylane Vital Light is indicated for treatment of the face, neck, back of the hands and decolletage, and is particularly suited to treat the more delicate areas of the face such as the under-eye area.

How long do results last?

The hydrating properties of this treatment will benefit the skin for several months before the product is broken down and adsorbed by the body.

Who is an ideal candidate for treatment?

This treatment is suitable for younger patients who have very mild signs of aging or who not yet show, but want to delay any signs of aging. Patients should be over 21 years of age. Do not treat patients who are allergic or hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine, or any other ingredient in the gel, and do not use this on patients who have a history of severe allergic reaction or anaphylaxis. Do not use to treat pregnant or breastfeeding patients, because the effect on a child is unknown. Do not use this or other brands of fillers to treat patients who have a bleeding disorder or who are taking thrombolytics or anticoagulants.

After the injection or 2 to 4 weeks later, some patients may experience a hypersensitivity reaction, including swelling, redness, tenderness, and acneiform papules, but these side effects are usually mild to moderate. Rarely, a patient may experience granuloma formation (a mass of immune cells from inflammation), urticaria (hives), or superficial necrosis (cell death). Any injection also carries the risk of infection. These may not be all the possible side effects.
