What is RADIESSE® 0.8 ml?

Radiesse 0.8 ml injectable implant is a steam sterilized, latex-free, non-pyrogenic, semi-solid, cohesive completely bio-degradable deep and sub-dermal implant. The syringe with standard luer fitting is packaged in a foil pouch and boxed for convenient storage. Radiesse 0.8 ml injectable implant is indicated for plastic and reconstructive surgery, including deep dermal and sub-dermal soft tissue augmentation of the facial area. Over time, the gel is dissipated in vivo and replaced with soft tissue growth, while the calcium hydroxylapatite remains at the site of injection. The result is long-term yet non-permanent restoration and augmentation. Radiesse 0.8 ml injectable implant is classified as a Class III Medical Device according to Annex IX of the MDD. It should be administered by an authorized medical practitioner in accordance with local applicable regulation.

What are the benefits of this product?

You can use Radiesse 0.8ml in the same way as hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers to correct your patient's wrinkles and add volume to their facial features. Radiesse does have a similar instant volumizing effect. However, Radiesse also takes the cosmetic treatment one step further. The calcium-based microspheres in Radiesse act as a scaffold, allowing collagen to form and maintain the skin's structure for longer. This makes Radiesse longer-lasting than other dermal fillers, lasting a year or longer in most patients.

How does this product work?

Radiesse 0.8 ml is made from calcium hydroxylapatite particles suspended in a gel, with a particle size of 25 to 45 microns. When injected into the skin, this product immediately replenishes lost volume to provide lift, lessening the appearance of wrinkles. After injection, this filler continues to help combat the signs of aging by acting as a scaffold to allow for new collagen to grow in the treatment area, extending the effect of the filler even further.

What are the ingredients?

Synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in a gel carrier (particle size range of 25-45 microns).

Use Instructions

How to inject/administer this product

When you perform wrinkle-reducing or facial sculpting cosmetic treatments with Radiesse, use the 28G needle that comes in the package. To administer the product, first disinfect the planned site of injection. Then attach the needle to the syringe tip securely, and prime the needle with Radiesse by slowly pushing the syringe plunger until a droplet of gel comes out the end of the needle. Radiesse 0.8 ml injectable implant should be injected sufficiently deep, so as to prevent nodular formation at the surface of the skin or ischemia of the overlying tissue. Refer to the product insert for a full list of instructions.

When should I use this product?

You can use Radiesse 0.8 ml to smooth and sculpt your patient's face, either to reduce the signs of aging, correct facial fat loss from lipoatrophy, or erase severe-looking facial lines that can cause your patients to look old before their time.

What areas can I treat with this product?

Radiesse 0.8 ml works great for marionette lines, which are the lines that run from the corners of your patient's mouth to their chin; smile lines, also known as nasolabial folds, which are lines that run from your patient's nose to the corners of their mouth; the oral commissure, which are frown lines; chin wrinkles, which are horizontal lines that form on your patient's chin; and pre-jowls, which is sagging skin on either side of your patient's chin after facial volume is lost. Radiesse 0.8 ml can also add volume and definition to various areas of the face, fill in hollow areas, and correct general facial wrinkles.

How long do results last?

When your patient purchases a Radiesse 0.8 ml cosmetic treatment, they will see immediate results as the injectable gel fills their skin and increases volume. Most patients find their results last for about a year, but they could continue to see a cosmetic improvement for up to 2 years.
