ZO RETINOL BRIGHTENER is a skin brightening and correcting lotion for aging and sun-damaged skin. This skin lotion includes ingredients such as retinol, vitamins C and E, glutathione, isoflavonoids, glucosamine, and herbal extracts. Patients with aging and sun-damaged skin affected by hyperpigmentation may use this skin lotion for a more even skin tone.

The main ingredients in ZO RETINOL BRIGHTENER are high-potency retinol and ascorbic acid-2 glucoside, which help exfoliate dead skin cells, increasing cell turnover and breaking up existing skin pigmentation to help brighten skin tone. The Stachys officinalis herbal extract has soothing properties and may help block messengers that trigger melanogenesis, reducing melanin production to limit dark spots. Glutathione, soy isoflavones, and n-acetyl glucosamine can help prevent new age spots and uneven pigmentation from forming, while vitamins C and E can act as antioxidants, helping protect skin from free radicals which can cause damage. Together, the ingredients help brighten the skin for a more even skin tone.

To use ZO RETINOL BRIGHTENER, patients must first cleanse their skin and then apply 1-2 pumps of the brightening lotion to their fingertips. Then rub the lotion into the skin with light massage movements, covering the entire face, but avoiding the eyes.

Your patients should start by using this lotion twice a week, then gradually increase to once every day, if their skin can tolerate it. Around 3–7 days after first using this skin brightener, your patients will experience dryness, peeling, and irritation as the ingredients help exfoliate dead cells from the skin’s surface. If the irritation and burning sensation persist, your patients should stop using ZO RETINOL BRIGHTENEX until these symptoms subside, then gradually begin using this skin lotion again to build their tolerance. If your patients need a less-aggressive skin brightener, they can mix equal parts ZO RETINOL BRIGHTENEX and ZO Restoracalm, and use this mixture once a week.

This product can be used on the face and other areas to be treated for hyperpigmentation.

This skin brightening lotion is for external use only. If your patients get this skin lotion in their eyes, they should rinse thoroughly with cool water. Since use of this lotion can increase sun sensitivity, your patients should use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit their sun exposure while using this skin brightener and for 1 week afterwards.
