MEDICAL TOURISM FOR CANADIANS
As Critical testing and surgery wait times are taking longer than normal our northern neighbors are resorting to cross the border. Whether for open-heart surgery, hip replacement or MRI scans Canadians are heading south cash in hand for treatment by American doctors.
According to Fraser Institute findings orthopedic surgery has the longest wait time. For many this means living with pain with little or no relief and no definite booked time for surgery in sight. Dr.Anne Doig, the president of the Canadian Medical Association, said her county’s health care is “sick” and “imploding,”the Canadian Press reported.
Medical tourism for Canadians means heading south.
